"[The disciples] ate together with glad and sincere hearts"
(Acts 2:46 NIV)
The early followers of Jesus ate together all the time, and they gave to "anyone who had need" (Acts 2:45 NIV). So over the summer we are going to do just that. Instead of our 3pm service we will be meeting at midday to eat together, look at the bible and discuss what it all means for us today.
Jesus ate... I know! Shocking right!
The wedding feast at Cana, the feeding of the 5000, the last supper, eating on the go, eating with his disciples, eating with with pharisees. Jesus was often found to be eating something, and at each of these moments Jesus taught people something important about his kingdom and what it means to follow him. We expect this will be a season where Jesus teaches us something too.
So what's it going to be like?
Well we are going to:
Eat yummy food
Hopefully that bit was already clear!
Continue our series looking at the book of Hebrews
We have started looking at the book of Hebrews (a book of the bible). We will be continuing our series, but with added disscussion around tables. If you've missed it up until now don't worry you can jump in wherever we are up to.
We believe God answers prayer and so will be leaving time for people to request prayer for whatever is hapening in thier lives that they want prayer for.
Each week we hope to get someone to share a little of thier story and what has brought them along.
Who can come?
You and your familly, and friends. If you do plan on coming do let us know so we can make sure we have enough food!
